==Ancestry==
His ancestor, Pierre Changuion, was a Huguenot farmer, who during the Massacre of Vassy (1562) had his lands and home burned along with his entire village. After this event the Changuions still remained in large numbers in France, mostly as ministers. The Changuion family eventually emigrated to the Netherlands in 1685.
